Sony Xperia XR Images Leaked Before Launch

Images of a new Sony X series smartphone, the Xperia XR, has been reportedly leaked. The alleged Sony Xperia XR has been shot from different angles, showing the phone in all its glory. The host of leaked renders comes with model number F8331.

The renders were first leaked by phone tipster @Onleaks on Twitter. The handset appears in Royal Blue color. The design reminiscence the recently unveiled Xperia X smartphones. The right panel has got the power and volume button. We can see another button which is likely to be dedicated camera button or a side fingerprint scanner module. OnLeaks claims the dimensions of the Xperia XR to be roughly 146.4×71.9×8.1mm. The rear panel houses a primary camera and also a dual-LED flash module, while the bottom panel features a USB Type-C port for charging.

According to several leaked reports, Xperia XR expected to feature a 5.1-inch display and run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor. And it’s likely to support for 4K video recording.

So far there has been no official word on when the Sony Xperia XR will be launched, but we think the IFA event next month in Berlin on September 1, might be a likely date for the launch.

Sony had recently launched the Xperia XA Ultra smartphone in India at a price of Rs 29,990. It features a 6-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) and sports Mobile BRAVIA engine 2. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The handset comes packed with 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card. It sports a 21.5-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS for mobile sensor, quick launch, hybrid autofocus, HDR photo, auto scene recognition, and LED flash and a 16-megapixels front camera. Connectivity options include it supports GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, A-GPS, Wi-Fi Miracast, Bluetooth 4.1, DLNA, NFC. The handset packs a 2700mAh battery which is said to deliver up to 2 days of battery life and is available in White, Black, and Lime Gold colors.
