Consumer electronics manufacturer Xiaomi are on an absolute roll launching all sorts of electronics devices which are providing consumers with easier and efficient alternatives to electronic devices. However, the company which is widely known for their consumer-friendly and budget smartphones are also slated to launch two of their latest devices, the Xiaomi Mi 5s and the Mi 5s Plus at a launch event on September 27.
Numerous rumours and leaks have been popping out regarding the new Mi 5s from Xiaomi, which is pegged to be one of their premium devices. Latest leaks regarding the upcoming smartphone involve a picture of a 4-inch sized variant of the smartphone.
A lot of those rumours state that the ‘S’ in the Mi 5S stands for small and the smartphone could very well be unveiled in two different-sized variants which includes the 4-inch sized variant along with the reported 5.15-inch bigger version. A look at the leaked image shows the device itself, and at the upper left corner of it, you’ll get to see Xiaomi’s logo, and it’s located in the same place as on the Xiaomi Mi 5. The rumour further states that this handset will ship with NFC and support Xiaomi’s Mi Pay payment system.
The Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC, 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone is said to sport Qualcomm’s SenseID, which is the company’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The 16-megapixel shooter is said to be located on the back of this smartphone (same sensor as on the Xiaomi Mi 5). The original variant was slated to be powered by a 3,490mAh battery and by the looks of it the smaller 4-inch sized variant will probably sport a smaller battery most definitely. According to certain leaks, the battery will be a 2,750 mAh which will also support Qualcomm’s Quickcharge 3.0.
The 4-inch smartphone will also, most definitely , suffer a demotion in display as it will sport a 720p display unlike the 1080p display of it’s larger sized variant. Both the versions is reportedly made out of glass and metal.
