Huawei Mate 9: Yesterday we reported on the newly released Huawei Mate 9 teaser on the company’s Chinese social networking website, Weibo. The handset is set for a November 3 global release in a ceremony in Munich, Germany. As customary with Huawei, the company will launch a Chines edition of the handset. Though the Huawei hasn’t announced a release date of the Chinese edition, new rumours suggest that the handset will come out on November 9.
GizmoChina, reports that Mate 9 will be launched in China on November 9 which coincidentally corresponds with Mate 9. The official Chinese poster of the event says the phone will come out in November without mentioning the date.
The upcoming handset has been subjected to a number of leaks. Some claim Huawei Mate 9 will sport a build similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, including its Edge screen. Fabnewz, reports that latest renders have revealed the handset will have two variants with distinctly, different body design. One called the Manhattan that’ll have standard appearance while the other one, Long Island shows-off dual-curved display. Long Island is likely to be the higher-end device.

Some of the rumoured key specs of Huawei Mate 9 are as follows – 5.9-inch screen with QHD for the Long Island and FHD for Manhattan variant. Both versions will feature a 64-bit HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor, dual Leica cameras similar to the Huawei P9’s but with f/2.0 and 20-megapixels sensor, and iris recognition. While one version will bear 4GB RAM, the other will bear 6GB RAM version. The Long Island variant of the Huawei Mate 9 will support Android’s Daydream VR. Long Island version is supposed to have a bigger built too. Both phones will run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and will be backed by an impressive 4000mAh battery.
