According to leaked images that emerged online, Xiaomi is working on MIUI 9 software which is supposed to be based Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Moreover, we have got the exact version number of MIUI 9 and its supported devices.
Back in August Xiaomi had released MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The Android N flavoured MIUI 9 with version number 9.6.9.23 is going to be released. The photo that surfaced online shows that the ROM is in works.
MIUI 9 Compatible Devices:
The supported devices are as follows: Xiaomi Mi 5, 5s and Mi 5s Plus. Other Mi devices include Mi 4s, Mi 4i, Mi 4c, Mi Max, Mi Note Pro and Mi Pad 2. Xiaomi is likely to release Android Nougat update for its less expensive Redmi series. The devices include the Redmi Pro, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3 and Redmi 3A. These devices will receive MIUI 9 update as soon as the company releases it latest operating system.
According to recent reports, Qualcomm is not going to release graphics drivers for devices running on Snapdragon 800 and 801 processors. This just means that the Mi Note running on Snapdragon 801 SoC will miss the update.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi is working on Note 2. According to recent leaks the handset is going to be somewhat like Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will sport a dual-edge screen as well as the dual-rear camera. The device will feature 5.5-inch Oled screen and an all metal body. The device will come in 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage and 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage bundle variants. It’ll be powered by a Snapdragon 821 chipset and backed by a 3600mAh battery. The phone will feature USB Type-C port, a fingerprint sensor with two speaker grilles. Speaking of the camera, the Mi Note 2 will sport 16-megapixels and 4-megapixels.
