LG sends out E-Invites For the LG G6 Launch Event on February 2016

Consumer electronics giants LG have started sending out invites for their flagship smartphone, the LG G6’s unveiling event on February 26, a day before the MWC 2017 kicks off in Barcelona. LG’s e-invite shows fireworks at night sky over a lake, along with the caption: “See More, Play More”. In an interview with  ZDNet, LG reportedly opened up about the invitation more stating that the invite has an 18:9 ratio, basically the screen ratio of the G6. This goes perfectly in accordance with what was announced regarding the device earlier.

Renders leaked earlier showed that it would keep the 3.5mm headphone jack and a recent teaser from LG said it will be a “Big Screen Small Body” device which had opened up speculations of the device sporting a possible 100% screen-to-body ratio eliminating bezels on the front panel of the device.

LG Display, the company’s display arm, announced earlier this month the G6 will have a 5.7-inch 1440 x 2880 Quad HD+ LCD panel. The screen will be the first of its kind to come with an ultra wide 18:9 ratio with a ppi of 541. Pegged to be the sharpest smartphone display ever offered by the company, LG is promising an immersive viewing experience with their upcoming offering. The phone will also have a heat pipe that prevents overheating and has gone through extensive quality testing for safety according to the company.

Further specifications pertaining to the LG G6 include a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage, dual rear cameras, and a big battery. The South Korean company has strived to incorporate Qualcomm’s much coveted 10nm process which is slated to provide at least a 20 percent ramp up in performance and 40% more power efficient than the Snapdragon 821. Other specific features which will add to the USP of the device are wireless charging, IPX Water resistivity as well as a possible iris scanner in the device.
