Chinese smartphone manufacturer Coolpad unveiled its new device, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite, in India last week. The new device will go on sale in India from today. Priced at Rs 8,199, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite will be made available on Amazon from noon today. The new smartphone will arrive with decent specs and will ship in two colour options: Gold and Grey.
This new smartphone is a watered down version of the Coolpad Note 5, launched last September in India. The new Coolpad Note 5 Lite is a dual-SIM smartphone which will run on the proprietary Cool UI 8.0 which in turn is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. the new Coolpad Note 5 Lite will come equipped with a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The display is a 2.5D curved glass IPS display which has a pixel density of 294ppi. The new smartphone has a screen to body ratio of 70.6 percent.
The new Coolpad Note 5 Lite will be powered by the 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735CP System on Chip (tech jargon for the processor) which will be coupled with a very respectable 3GB of RAM. The graphics of the smartphone will be admirably taken care of by the Mali 720 GPU. Come to the camera and we find a 13-megapixel rear or primary camera equipped with dual-LED flash. The front snapper is an 8-megapixel one also with LED flash. For extra security, the fingerprint sensor sits on the rear panel.
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite will ship with 16GB of native or inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card. The device will also feature USB OTG support. Other connectivity options will include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB. Unlike other giants releasing this year, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite comes with a 3.5mm audio jack. Powered by a 2,500 mAh battery, the new Coolpad device will be able to deliver a standby time of 200 hours. Other features include an accelerometer and a proximity sensor. The smartphone is handy and lightweight and weighs a mere 148 grams.
