Cristiano Ronaldo, Nubia’s brand ambassador and captain of the Portuguese football team, just released a teaser picture of the Nubia Z17 Mini on his Weibo. The phone is due to come out on April 6 in China. Earlier it was being speculated that the handset would roll out on March 21, but the date came, and Nubia launched a new line – M2, M2 Lite, and N2.
Ronaldo’s posted the picture with the following statement: Just finished shooting with @nubiasmartphone very impressed by the dual camera! Looking forward to the product launch on April 6th.
One of the highlights of the picture is that dual camera set up and a fingerprint scanner that one can notice. This, of course, is Nubia’s first smartphone with the fingerprint sensor and the company’s first device with such excellent camera capacity that we’ll be discussing. But this won’t be Nubia’s first handset worth a dual camera setup. The M2 that was launched last week comes with the same camera setup which has been one of the highlights of the handset.
As per rumors, other features of the handset includes a 5.2-inch full HD (1080) display. Rumour has it that the handset come in two combinations of RAM and processor variants. The lower variants will be coming with 4GB RAM and the very much outdated Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 chipset, and higher or the more expensive variant offers 6GB RAM along with the powerful Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 653 chipset.
Speaking of rumors, the handset will be measuring 146 x 72.14 x 8.1 mm and weighs as little as 160 grams. Nubia Z17 will be sporting 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensors on the rear and 16-megapixel front camera for selfies. The handset runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The handset will either be backed by 3,000mAh battery or 2,930mAh (according to the TENNA listing) and will be sporting a Quick Charge 3.0 technology. The connectivity options for the phone includes 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS/A-GPS and the sensors include Gravity sensor, distance sensor, and a light sensor.
