After unveiling the latest flagship of the company, the LG G6, at the MWC 2017, the Korean tech giant LG is all set to release the coveted handset in India today. LG G6 is one of the most hotly anticipated smartphones of the year and created much hype when it was first unveiled at the February tech event. Now LG is releasing the handset in of the largest smartphone selling markets of the world, shortly after their arch-rival Samsung launched their flagship device, Samsung Galaxy S8 in India. So before the LG G6 hits the market shelves; check out the key features of the smartphone and five reasons why you should buy LG G6.
Design
LG always loves to experiment with the design of their smartphones. LG was the only major smartphone making company which released their flagship devices with a removable battery option until they released the LG G6 in February. Not only that, LG unveiled their last flagship device, the LG G5 with a modular design. Although the move was innovative and unique, the move did not pan out due to the usability issues of the modules. So with the LG G6, the Korean company has given their full attention to the improving the design of the handset and making it more premium looking. Thus LG uses metal and glass to design the body of the LG G6 and also has given a rugged, waterproof look which has passed through “14 different military-standard 810G tests”. Moreover, the South Korean company launches the smartphone with a thin bezel, which makes the 5.7-inch screen of the handset looking even bigger.
Screen
Much like the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 also flaunts 18:9 aspect ratio screens, and most importantly the first phone to have such aspect ratio. The biggest advantage of having 18:9 aspect ratio display in a smartphone is it makes the way for the smartphone making company to put in a big screen even in a small handset. LG has also used the FullVision Display technology in their current handset with 2880 x 1440 pixels resolution, which looks incredibly stunning especially when you are using the phone for any entertainment purpose.
Optics
The most highlighting feature of the optics of the LG G6 is the dual rear camera panel of the handset. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S8, the LG G6 does boast off two cameras, both of 13-megapixels, at the back end of the body. One of the cameras come with a wide 125-degree lens for capturing the landscapes.
Under the Hood
Due to the pact between Samsung and Qualcomm, LG could not release the LG G6 with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. But having said that, the smartphone does come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of internal storage. Not only that, you can later expand the internal storage of the phone up to 256GB through microSD card slot. The handset runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.0 OS, IP 68 certified which makes the device water and dustproof, and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. So the LG G6 offers to the users more than the handset actually promises.
Price
The LG G6 will be available to buy on Amazon India, but the makers have not announced the price tag yet. According to some Mumbai-based retailers, the LG G6 might be priced at Rs 51,990, but you will get a huge discount of Rs 7,000, if you purchase it through some particular bank cards. So the effective price of the LG G6 will be cut down Rs 45,000, which is way cheaper than Samsung Galaxy S8 or the upcoming iPhone. This is clearly the one flagshp to beat. Listen up, OnePlus!
