While we are still busily trying to figure out when Meizu‘s next flagship, the much awaited Meizu Pro 7 will finally be shown the light of the day, it looks like the company is currently focusing on something else. A few days back, a new Meizu device had surfaced online which made us all think that we were looking at the Pro 7. However, things have taken a different direction with sources revealing another image that gets rid of all the blurry effects of the original. And thanks to that, we are now aware that the leaked handset was, in fact, the Meizu X2.
More of the accompanying details are also available, and although not greatly in-depth, we do know the basics. We will address the upcoming smartphone’s aesthetics first, so here we go. The new image is nearly the same as the last one, but some of its aspects, like the Meizu branding at the rear, are better visible. The other thing to take note of while we are focusing on the back panel is the dual camera set up, arranged horizontally in the manner of the iPhone 7 Plus. It also seems to be coupled with a dual-tone LED flash. The company’s branding is located below at the center.
Coming to the front, what immediately catches our eye is the minimalistic bezels. While the upper and lower bezels are just broad enough to accommodate the earpiece, secondary camera, and a few sensors at the top along with the fingerprint scanner/ home button beneath the display, those at the sides are barely even visible. The display looks to be a large one, but we don’t have any specifics on that front yet.
On the inside, the Meizu X2 smartphone will house a MediaTek Helio X25 processor and will be backed by a 3,350mAh battery. There’s mention of 2.5D glass as well, but there is nothing about the screen’s size. However, we know that the Meizu X2 will come in three storage variants in combinations of 3GB/ 32GB, 4GB/ 32 GB, and 4GB/ 64GB. Approximate prices for these will be $254, $276, and $290 respectively.
