Armani, the global luxury giant, will introduce its own Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch on September 14. This is Armani’s first entry into the smartwatch arena and it will be one of the most important high-fashion smartwatches to launch in recent times. All smartwatches which run on Android Wear 2.0 have been getting upgrades lately and this new entry will soon get an update as well.
Armani had also released a hybrid smartwatch last year in the fall as well.
Many fashion houses have lately been jumping on the smartwatch bandwagon. These brands, the latest of which is Armani, have proven to be a boon to those users who want a smartwatch with high-fashion aesthetic and design as well. Besides, it also provides them with a number of features many run of the mill manufacturers provide.
The new series is said to be a part of Fossil Group’s 300 smartwatch series which will launch later this year. Armani’s new smartwatch will be made available starting September 24 via Armani’s website, stores, and other retailers.
Armani Android Wear 2.0 Smartwatch Features
The Emporio Armani collection too will have a customizable watch face which will then complement the brand’s design aesthetic as well. On offer are eight interchangeable straps which will suit the various moods of the user and of the smartwatch aesthetics. In terms of behaviour, it is pretty similar to the other Android Wear 2.0 devices, which essentially means that it will act as an activity tracker, besides alerting you to their respective smartphone notifications. You can now even summon Google Assistant using it.
Powering the new device is a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, one of the latest Android smartwatch processors. Also on board is a round AMOLED display.
There is no information on how much the touchscreen smartwatch will cost. However, if we look at the hybrid smartwatches, which are non-touchscreen, they come for somewhere between $200 and $375. This means that these new devices will cost significantly more. We will have more information for you as and when they reach us. Stay tuned.
