Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Design Suggested by Casemaker

Case leaks for smartphones are all the rage right now, and Olixar is the name to watch out for. Not only have they been reputed case makers for a long time, but at the same time, they are responsible for leaking possible design renders of popular devices much before they are made official. Olixar already has a track record of successfully leaking noted devices from Samsung (including the upcoming Galaxy Note 8) and LG. The devices in question right now are, however, the Google Pixel 2 models that are in the pipeline.

Gordon Kelly of Forbes has once again got his hands on exclusive first look images of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL housed inside Olixar cases. The cases are already up for pre-order on MobileFun, and the tech accessory website is apparently confident of their authenticity. The cases look like trademark Olixar cases, with strategic cutouts for the camera and the fingerprint scanner at the back. They also give a decent look at both the devices from the front and the back. It appears that the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL will be identical in terms of their design philosophy, save for their size.

This isn’t the first time we are getting a good look at the upcoming smartphones from Google. A few days back, popular leakster @OnLeaks shared 360 degree views of the devices based on factory CAD. But if you were hoping to have the one thing that has recently made everyone curious confirmed by the case leak, then you are in for disappointment. The Olixar cases show nothing of the top or bottom of the device, which means that the matter of the 3.5mm headphone jack is still a mystery.

The previously leaked renders seemed to suggest that the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices, which are said to run on SD 836 SoC, were doing away with the headphone jack, much like Apple. It is impossible to say how the reception will be on that front, however. But not all is bad, as we can clearly see that the company has put in some thoughts on upgrading to a sleeker look overall. Stay tuned as we cover the Pixel 2 and its larger counterpart before they are estimated to come out later this year.
