Samsung Launched Galaxy Note 8: Check Out the Key Specs and Features

Finally, Samsung has unveiled the hotly-awaited Galaxy Note 8 on Wednesday in New York through a launch event. Available in four different colors – Orchid Grey, Midnight Black, Maple Gold, and Deep Sea Blue; the Galaxy Note 8 will be up for the pre-orders from today and the Korean tech conglomerate will start shipping the device from 15th September onwards. The basic model of the Galaxy Note 8 is priced at $960 (approx Rs. 61,500) on Verizon and $930 (approx Rs. 59,500) on AT&T. The interested buyers who will pre-order the handset will get either a Gear 360 camera or a charging bundle, free of cost, from the company. Not only that, Samsung has also announced a special discount for the Galaxy Note 7 users to encourage them to buy the next installment of the series.

So what are the key features of the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Note 8? The Korean tech giant has left no stone unturned to make the Galaxy Note 8 a perfect device, at least in terms of specifications, to regain the company’s lost pride, which has been tampered after the battery fiasco of the Galaxy Note 7. So, the Galaxy Note 8 sports the biggest screen of this series- a 6.3-inch QuadHD+ AMOLED Infinity Display with the pixel resolution of 1440×2960 pixels. Under the hood, the tablet houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor for the US market and an octa-core Samsung Exynos 8895 chipset for the Asian market. The SoC is clubbed with a 6GB of RAM and comes packed with 64GB of native storage which is expandable via the microSD card slot.

On the optics front, the brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 sports a dual-camera setup at the rear end of the handset. Both the sensors are of 12-megapixel and offer OIS and PDAF features to the users. Among the two shooters, one sports a wide-angle lens and comes with f/1.7 aperture and the other one boasts of a telephoto lens with a f/2.4 aperture as well as 2x optical zoom. In the front, an 8-megapixel snapper is placed with f/1.7 aperture size to click selfies and make video calls. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 offers Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system straight out of the box and is backed by a 3300mAh battery.

As far the connectivity options are concerned, the tablet features Bluetooth 5.0, LTE Cat 16, USB Type-C and supports wireless charging as well as NFC and MST for Samsung Pay. The handset is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and is IP68 certified. The signature mark of this Note series, the S-Pen is also present in the Galaxy Note 8 and according to the company’s claim it will enable users to to communicate in  “more personal ways”. The Korean company has also introduced the Live Messages feature to enhance their texting experiences. Users can send handwritten messages, animated GIF through this feature and S-Pen.
