A new smartphone, manufactured by iconic Dutch consumer electronics company Philips, has now been spotted on Philips. Bearing the model number S310X, this device has long been in the making and is expected to signal Philips’ return to the modern smartphone market. Since the device has been spotted on TENAA, it is expected to launch in China first.
However, the TENAA listing does not show off very impressive specs as far as the new smartphone is concerned. For example, take the RAM variants. The S310X is listed with options of 1GB, 2GB, and 3GB of RAM. This leads us to two conflicting conclusions: either Philips is not yet sure about which RAM variant to offer or there will be three RAM variants on offer. Either way, it does seem that the new device will have three different storage variants on offer.
The most basic version comes with 8GB of internal storage while two other higher versions are also seen: one with 16GB of native storage and another with 32GB of native storage. We can, therefore, conclude that the new Philips S310X will come in three separate models: one with 1GB of RAM/8GB of storage, one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and the most premium one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
As far as the processor is concerned, we only know that it has been clocked at 1.25GHz. As far as the photography and optics are concerned, the rear pr primary camera has an 8MPsensor with LED flash besides a 2MP selfie snapper out front. We also know that the Philips S310X will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. What is most disappointing is that the new Philips device only has a 2,000mAh battery. It will be speedy enough for the average user, as it is VoLTE support, and will also support 4G LTE. Stay tuned for more updates.
