After the swirling rumors, MIUI 9 was finally launched a week before along with Mi 5X and Mi AI speaker. Now, with recent reports, we have gathered that owners of Xiaomi Mi 5 will be those fortunate ones to get the latest MIUI 9 update on their handsets. In the coming week, Xiaomi Mi 5 will be receiving the update.
Through its Weibo official handle, Xiaomi has revealed that the new MIUI will be available on Xiaomin’s Mi 5, thereby stating, “#MIUI Insider # News: millet 5 next Monday (August 7) can be upgraded # MIUI9 # experience version. At the same time, the second batch of the development version of 12 models will be launched in mid-August development version of the closed beta, in the MIUI forum for recruitment!”
Monday, i.e. August 5, is the gala day for Mi 5 owners to get the new MIUI 9 with their Xiaomi Mi 5 handset. Initially, the update was supposed to be carried forward with Xiaomi Mi 5 in the second batch. But due to the enhanced sales figure with Xiaomi’s Mi 5 handset, the giant changed its decision. And eventually attempted to bring the exclusive change, as Xiaomi Mi 5 happens to be one of the most prominent devices manufactured by the Chinese tech conglomerate. In respect to users’ knowledge, MIUI 9 is reportedly a China Beta version by which users are required to register for the enrollment of the Beta program to receive the update. At the MIUI Forum users can easily register for the Beta program.
Arriving in both Developer ROM as well as Stable ROM, MIUI 9 Developer ROM is still in the testing process, hence gets updated at a regular interval of a week. The MIUI 9 Developer ROM will be available in 12 different models including Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi Note 2, Mi MIX, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, and more. Owners of Mi 6 and Redmi Note 4X will also be lucky to receive the latest ROM.
