The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is currently enjoying a launching spree and after unveiling Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Xiaomi Mi Note 3, the manufacturers are all ready to launch another Note series smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A. Today the tech conglomerate announced that the much anticipated Redmi Note 5A will be unveiled on Monday in China through an inaugural event at 7:30 pm China Time. The Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, Bin Lin will himself be present at the event and will launch the most awaited smartphone of the company.
If we talk about the variants of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A, recently the smartphone was spotted on TENAA, the Chinese certification site and according to that website, the handset is going to be available in two different variants. The premium model of this series will sport a fingerprint sensor at the back while the basic model will not. The two variants of the Redmi Note 5A are codenamed as MDT6 and MDT6S with the latter one features the fingerprint sensor. Apart from the security measure, both the versions come with almost similar specifications.
On the specifications front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is going to sport a 5.5-inch HD display with 1280 × 720 pixel resolution. Under the hood, the handset is expected to pack with the Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage. The users will further be able to expand the internal capacity up to 128GB with the help of the microSD card.
The dual SIM supported Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is expected to run on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the company very own MIUI 9 skinned on top of it. On the optics front, the handset is pegged to sport a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash at the rear end and a 5-megapixel shooter at the front to make video calls and take selfies. According to TENAA, the Redmi Note 5A is going to weigh only 150 gram and will measure 153.3×76.3×7.31mm. The handset is also believed to backed by a 3000mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is believed to come with a price tag of CNY 999 (almost Rs. 9,600) and will be up for grab from Monday itself.
