As we reported on last week, Xiaomi is all set to launch the precious Redmi Note 5A today through an inaugural event taking place in China. And just before the wrap off the device, the CEO of this Chinese tech giant, Lei Jun revealed some features of the handset which we can expect from the smartphone at the time of the official announcement. According to Jun, the Redmi Note 5A is going to feature 16-megapixel snapper at the front end of the smartphone accompanied by a dedicated flash for taking better selfies and for making video calls. Jun also confirmed that the smartphone will come with a three slot tray-one for microSD expansion and two for SIM cards. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Variants
As we mentioned in the earlier report, according to the TENAA listing the Redmi Note 5A is going to be launched in two different variants depending on the presence of the fingerprint sensor on the handset. The basic variant of this smartphone won’t come with the fingerprint scanner while the Pro or the Prime variant will sport one at the rear end.

Apart from the fingerprint scanner, both the variants of the smartphone will flaunt a similar design. The Redmi Note 5A will sport a sleek metal unibody with a single-camera setup and antenna bands placed at the rear end. In the front, the handset will feature dual speaker grills, capacitive navigation button, and USB Type-C port. The power button and the volume rocker is placed at the right edge of the device. The handset will be available in three different colors- Silver, Gold and Rose Gold.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Key Specs
The basic version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is expected to flaunt a 5.5-inch HD display with the pixel resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 425 chipset coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of phone memory which is further expandable up to 128GB, kudos to the microSD card slot. This 4G VoLTE supported device is believed to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the company’s very own MIUI 9 running top of it. On the optics front, the basic model of the Redmi Note 5A is expected to sport a 13-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash and 5-megapixel front shooter. The device is expected to come with a dimension of 153.3×76.3×7.31 mm and weigh 150 grams.
On the other hand, the Prime or Pro model is pegged to notch up a few specs and is expected to come with a Snapdragon 435 SoC coupled with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of native storage. If we talk about the camera specifications, the premium model is believed to sport 16-megapixel snappers at the both end of the device.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Key Price
The basic model of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is expected to come with a price tag of CNY 999 (approx Rs. 9,600), while the price of the Pro or Prime model is still unknown.
