Of all the highly anticipated devices that are doing the rumor mills these days, few can match up to the hype surrounding the Nokia 9. While the new Nokia 8 is all set to launch tomorrow, some new specs and features of the flagship-level Nokia 9 are already doing the rounds. If they are to be believed, the Nokia 9 may come with a 3D bezel-less edge-to-edge display, a stunning design philosophy, dual rear cameras and a whole host of new features.
We have already covered the Nokia 9 in some detail previously. Some time ago, the rear panel had leaked, showing off a 3D glass design. This 3D glass design is expected to stay, according to the leaked specs and features list. So, while a new Nokia 8 variant – one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage- is expected to land in the US very soon, the front and back panel designs of the new Nokia 9 has shown off three key features: one being the edge-to-edge display, a vertically placed rear dual-camera module as well as an LED flash, besides a dedicated fingerprint sensor which will aid in extra protection.
The renders have also pointed out that this new device will retain the same asymmetric boxy appearance with the 3D bezel-less display design. We saw the render in a copper color and we could not see any physical buttons on the front; instead, it uses virtual controllers. We did see, however, that the power button and the volume rockers are located on the right-hand side.
We had earlier reported that the Nokia 9 would have a bigger display with sharper resolution. It will have a 5.7-inch Quad-HD display and we believe that the 3D glass design on the rear will support wireless charging. There will be a Carl Zeiss dual rear camera module and the new smartphone will have either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The 128GB of default storage will also act as a positive point for the potential customer. Finally, the Nokia 9 may be IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.
