Motorola has launched a new variant of the Moto G5S in the Indian market. The only new thing this device has is an updated color palette: the new color is Midnight Blue. The classical blue shade which shines on the anodized rear panel does seem great. One big thing to remember is that the front panel is not the same shade: it is the same black front panel as the Lunar Grey variant is.
We have previously covered the Moto G5S on multiple occasions: we had brought you the features list of the phone before the launch took place. Later, when the Moto G5S Plus was announced, we had brought you our initial impressions. Now, we have spotted a new color variant of the device.
Besides, the Midnight Blue variant, we have also spotted another new color option: Fine Gold. All other features of the device are slated to remain the same.
Motorola has priced the Moto G5S Midnight Blue color option at Rs. 14,999. Other variants are priced at Rs. 12,999. To coincide with the festive season in India, as the company has announced a specially discounted buying window between October 14 and October 21.
As far as the features are concerned, the Moto G5S has onboard a 5.2-inch FHD 1080p display. Powering the device is an octa-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor which works well in tandem with 3GB RAM besides 32GB of storage. Thanks to a microSD card slot which supports expandable storage, the 32GB can be jacked up to 128GB via a microSD card.
On the rear, the Moto G5S has a 16MP camera armed with PDAF and other features. Also onboard is a 5MP selfie snapper with LED flash for those who wish to remain in their photos. The device has a 3000mAh battery which also has the TurboCharge feature. The Moto G5S has a water-repellent nano-coating that helps the user recover from accidental splashes.
