Sharp, the Japanese manufacturing major, has announced the new Sharp Aquos R Compact with a lot of features. This is the latest in the long range of Sharp’s Aquos range. In August this year, Sharp had launched its Aquos S2 with a super-bright display. Also, we had earlier spotted the Sharp Aquos R with a great selfie camera passing the FCC a few months ago.
The Sharp Aquos R Compact, true to its name, has a 4.9-inch FHD+ IGZO display that bears a resolution of 2032 x 1080 pixels. Where the heart should be is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC which will work in tandem with 3GB of RAM as well as 32GB of default or native memory space. This default memory space can further be expanded to 256GB by using a microSD card.
The new smartphone from Sharp’s stables comes based on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. This is one of the first such devices to have Google’s latest mobile OS. Under the hood is a 2500mAh battery which powers the smartphone and we expect a great battery backup. For those on the go, there is onboard the Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging support. Sharp is known for its excellent displays and we expect that the Aquos R Compact will be no different either.
As far as the imaging qualities are concerned, the new Sharp Aquos R Compact has a 16.4MP rear or primary camera which has LED flash, as well as PDAF, and hybrid autofocus. An 8MP selfie camera is pretty decent. For extra security, there is also a front fingerprint sensor which is embedded in the device’s physical home button right below the display. Also present is the Bluetooth 5.0 as well as an IP68 rating for both dust and water resistance.
As far as the color options are concerned for the Sharp Aquos R Compact, expect such great options like Amethyst Purple, Tourmaline Black, Moon White, and Diamond Yellow. We do not have any word on the price tag as of now, so we have to wait for some more time.
