The Alcatel A5 LED and the A7 are now in India. We have previously covered these devices in some detail. The A7 was first introduced to the world at the IFA 2017 in Berlin about two months ago. Although there were reports such as this one, that the devices would launch in July this year, it is only now that both the A5 and the A7 have made their way to India. Alcatel has been looking to make roads in what is the world’s second-largest handset market. With the Alcatel A5 LED and the Alcatel A7, we are looking at the fruition of that dream of the company as well.
Alcatel A5 LED Specs and Features
The Alcatel A5 LED comes with a LIGHTUP+ MOD which can modify the LED rear cover to produce notifications. As far as the display is concerned, the handset has an IPS display measuring 5.2-inches and this display has a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. Besides, the device also boasts of a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, which runs in tandem with 3GB RAM and 16GB of native storage, the latter expandable using a microSD card. The OS is Android Marshmallow and there is a pretty decent 3,100mAh battery.
As far as camera and optics are concerned, there is a 13MP primary camera with a f/2.0 aperture as well as a dual tone LED flash. Out front is a 5MP fixed focus camera also with an LED flash.
Alcatel A7 Specs and Features
The Alcatel A7 is a more premium device. It has a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Onboard is a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek SoC which is mated to 4GB of RAM. Native storage is 32GB and is expandable to up to 128GB thanks to a microSD card. Onboard is a 16-megapixel rear camera, also with dual-tone LED flash as well as an 8-megapixel front snapper. We like the fact that there is a 4,000mAh battery.
