“Whether you’re talking, playing, working or streaming, you can feel confident about keeping your battery strong and full of life,” this is all about the newest Android operating system, the Android Oreo. We are currently in the hype of which smartphones shall receive the Android O update. However, the Shenzhen tech giant has done everything possible and kept its promise to bring Android O update for OnePlus 3 and 3T devices. Having reported it already a couple of days ago, the latest vendors by OnePlus (OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T) were presumed to get the same update anytime later this year.
Much to the delight of OnePlus 5 owners who are awaiting the next Android update on their devices, we have got a good news indeed. During an AMA session on OnePlus forums, the company has declared that both OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T will receive Android 8.1 Oreo update, reports GizmoChina. Right now, the new Android OS has been made available as a developer preview for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Pixels, which will have a stable version by the end of this year.
Android 8.1 comes with an inclusion of a host of premium features, of which, the Project Treble is one of the most powerful highlights. What it does is to make the Android experience much easier and exciting. It also gives the allowance to manufactures to update devices faster and less expensively. Disappointingly this feature won’t come to OnePlus phones, and fans will get the company’s vendors including OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T with an Android 8.1 update sans Project Treble.
Some of the other features that the new Android OS brings is the addition of a Bluetooth battery level icon right next to the icon of Bluetooth in ‘Quick Settings Panel’. It also brings the capability of disabling the “App is running in the background” notification. Not only that, but it also limits notification alert sounds to one per second. However, ahead of any confirmation, one may regard this news with a grain of salt and wait for more updates shortly.
