Two technologies are set to dominate the upcoming future. One is the advent of Artificial Intelligence and the other is the advent of 5G. 5G is the successor of 4G technolgies and is seen to be much faster and more reliable when compared to the 4G technology. In fact, it would not be too much of an overstatement if one were to suggest that such a technology is nearly here. While companies like Ericsson is working to deploy 5G technologies across the globe, companies like Huawei are planning to introduce 5G enabled smartphones Probably by 2019.
At the recently concluded World Internet Conference which was held in China, Huawei has confirmed that it is already working on a 5G-enabled smartphone, one that will revolutionize the industry. In this report by GizmoChina, the company has stated that it plans on introducing a 5G phone by the second half of 2019 and it is also expected that by that time, many countries will already have embraced the technology.
This is not the first time that such a technology has been shown off to the world. ZTE Gigabit phone is already running on the 5G technology. Also, a new 5G revolution is starting in India as well. This time last year, Qualcomm had unveiled the Snapdragon X50, the world’s first 5G modem.
On the second technical front, which is AI, Huawei has already started the race with its HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC, which had recently graced the Huawei Mate 10. These devices will also be able to support 5G connections. It is now believed that Huawei will also test some devices capable of supporting the 5G technology as early as 2018, which will likely be a trial run, and then the official technology will be kicked off in 2019. We must wait two more years to make out which company can ride the 5G bandwagon better than the others.
