If the latest reports are correct, the hotly awaited Xiaomi Mi 7 and its more premium counterpart, the Xiaomi Mi 7 Plus, may be launched as early as March in 2018. The immediate predecessor, the Xiaomi Mi 6, was a huge success internationally. We had reported earlier that the new Xiaomi Mi 7 could debut in February. However, it now seems that the company has intended to push back the launch to March 2018. It also confirms some of the best features.
According to this report by GizmoChina, the devices will launch simultaneously. This year, the devices may possibly have wireless charging, as per the latest reports. Some of the specs and features of this year’s Xiaomi Mi 7 and the Mi 7+ are: they will have a 5.8-inch full-screen display that will be complemented by an 18:9 aspect ratio. We may well be looking at an AMOLED display that will have a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and will also borrow Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the premium feel and look.
We have already reported that the Xiaomi Mi 7 this year will come with Qualcomm’s new and upcoming flagship processor, the Snapdragon 845 which will be paired with a very respectable 6GB of RAM. The Mi 7 will also have enough juice thanks to the 3950mAh battery which will also, incidentally, support dual-SIM dual-standby.
Also onboard will be dual rear cameras that will probably be a combination of 19MP + 19MP sensor and which will also boast an aperture of f/1.7 as well as 4x optical zoom. As far as the front is concerned, we expect a 16-megapixel sensor. The available support for fast charging is another major plus point. The Xiaomi Mi 7 is likely to have at least two variants: one will have 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A more premium version, likely to have 8GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage, is also expected.
