The Xiaomi Mi 6 is already ruling the markets worldwide. Now, the latest rumors suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 7 may already be in the grand scheme of things. We have earlier covered the Xiaomi Mi 6 extensively, including when the Xiaomi Mi 6 Mercury edition had started shipping last month. With the new Mi 7, it is expected that Xiaomi is looking to beat the best of the best at their own game.
A report in GizmoChina states that the new Xiaomi Mi 7 will have the next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC as well as a bigger 6-inch screen. Many of the next year’s flagship devices are arriving with the Snapdragon 845 in tow, including the Samsung Galaxy S9, which you can read here. In all probability, the new Mi 7 device will have an OLED| display panel while the release date will be pushed forward. Remember that the Mi 6 and the preceding Mi 5 had both debuted in the month of April. The new Mi 7, on the other hand, may debut earlier, sometime between January and March, just in time to provide competition to many other flagships.
Xiaomi is expected to stick to the glass and ceramic boy design that was followed for the Xiaomi M 6. This might possibly mean that there could be a facility for wireless charging as well. Two RAM variants are expected: one with 6GB and another with 8GB of RAM aboard. This will make the new Mi 7 the latest device to enter the premium device segment. This also discredits the model we spotted on GFXBench masquerading as the Xiaomi Mi 7.
Like we said previously, this new flagship model may come with a massive 6-inch screen, making it difficult to use by people who have smaller hands. Given the fact that this may be a full-screen display, we expect that there may be an in-screen fingerprint sensor. However, given the early launch date, it may not feature the in-screen fingerprint sensor. Note that this is a rumor and you are advised to take it with a pinch of salt.
