The grand day has finally arrived when fans would witness the launch of these smartphones. The Beijing smartphone giant is set to launch its Redmi 5 and 5 Plus devices at an event in Beijing, which is slated to begin at 2 pm CST (or 11:30 am IST). Earlier these smartphones were rife in the rumor mill as the company itself has teased the devices via render images, quite a number of times. Nevertheless, the tech industry has been lucky enough to get hold of numerous leaks and rumors surrounding the Xiaomi‘s Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. Xiaomi Redmi 5 & 5 Plus Launching Today with Excellent Features Although ahead of launch we have reported various aspects of these two devices, the essentials of the smartphones are worth mentioning right now, right here. Both the smartphones will adopt the full-screen design with an aspect ratio of 18:9. While the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will feature a 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 display with a screen resolution of 720×1440 pixels, the Redmi 5 Plus will be equipped with a larger screen measuring 5.5 inches with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Underneath the hood, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 will reportedly house an octa-core SoC (plausibly Snapdragon 450 or Snapdragon 625 chipset) clocked at 1.8GHz. Whereas, the Redmi 5 Plus will be powered by a Snapdragon 625 or Snapdragon 630 SoC. The RAM + memory specs include Redmi 5 variants to be occupied by default storage of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB with 4GB RAM. While on the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus will come with 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage. On the battery front, the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, running Android 7.1.2 based on MIUI 9 skin on top, will come with a 3200mAh and a mammoth 4000mAh batteries respectively.
