Apple May Soon Discontinue the iPhone X, Reports Suggest

Apple had, last year, announced the iPhone 8, the Phone 8 Plus, and the iPhone X with a lot of fanfare. It was a very expensive device and was naturally not too great a selling point for the company. That said, when it did start retailing in India, the phone was rather well received. However, now many experts and analysts of the Cupertino-based giant have stated that the Apple iPhone X may, in fact, be discontinued. And it has nothing to do with the price.

This news comes from some very reliable sources. Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, who is a noted analyst, has stated that just around 18 million units of the new iPhone X will ship in 2018’s first quarter. These numbers are rather disappointing and these figures may force Apple to discontinue the Apple iPhone X.  The price factor has so affected the users that the company recently announced the less expensive, the Apple Xc.

The all-new Apple iPhone X

A report by Apple Insider had claimed that in China, the sales of the iPhone X have been lukewarm, to say the least. Customers say that the iPhone X has less usable display space when compared to the iPhone 8 Plus. China being a serious market for the company, the lukewarm response has left the company with no option but to ensure that something is done about it.

When it was launched, the 256GB iPhone X variant was the bestselling model. Now, however, the iPhone X accounts for less than 20 percent of all of the company’s sales. In order to make sure that the losses are recouped, the company plans on launching a new Apple iPhone X Plus. We had reported how the Apple XI S Plus could be launched sometime in the future. In the meantime, unless Apple states something officially, take this news with a pinch of salt.
