Huawei P10 And P10 Plus Starts Receiving Android Oreo Beta Update

Huawei is presently working to bring the latest Android version i.e Oreo to as many of its previous flagship models as possible. The latest devices to receive the stable version of the Oreo update are Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro.

The next devices in the line to receive the update could be the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus which was launched in February last year running on Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.1 out of the box.

Huawei Mobile Romania has leaked the news via a Facebook post, that stated that the P10 and P10 Plus handsets with the following software versions Vtr-l09c432b180, Vtr-l29c432b180, Vky-l09c432b181, and Vky-l29c432b181 will start to receive the latest Android Oreo beta version. However, users may face some issues as it is only a beta version and is not fully optimized for the handset.

The update is reported to be 2.61GB in size and it brings EMUI 8.0 on board. Users may check out the beta version by downloading and installing the Huawei’s beta app and then log in with HWID (Huawei ID). Your device would then receive the beta update through OTA (over-the-air). Users may leave the beta program in the same way as mentioned above.  Now if the beta version gets successful without any bugs and issues, the users may get the stable version of Android Oreo soon. The beta program is now live in Romania, and other countries may get it very soon.

The new update would bring in a host of new features like picture-in-picture mode which would allow users to do two tasks simultaneously. Like for example, one can minimize a video to send an important mail or even a text message. The Android Oreo also has other features like background limits, installation of apps via APK, new notification dots, adaptive icons, over 60 new emojis, snoozing individual notification, keyboard navigation, web view enhancements and much more.
