Samsung Samsung Galaxy S8 Duo Receives Price Cut in India after Official Galaxy S9 Series Launch By Abhilash Thakur Posted on April 2, 2018 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr South Korean tech giant Samsung has reduced the prices of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ flagship devices in India following the launch of the latest Samsung Galaxy S9 series. The reduced prices are applicable to all authorized Samsung retail stores across the country and also on the official online store of the company. The Samsung Galaxy S8 64GB model is now available at a price of Rs 49,990, while the 64GB model of the Samsung Galaxy S8+ is now available at a price of Rs 53,990. The larger 128GB version of the Galaxy S8+ is now priced at Rs 64,900 while there is no mention of the 128GB versions of the two devices. The Samsung Galaxy S8 duo is powered by Samsung Exynos 8895 SoC. The specifications of the two devices are identical except some minor differences. The differences are mainly of screen size, dimensions, and the battery unit. The Samsung Galaxy S8 features a 5.8-inch QHD+ SUPER AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 X 2960 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, on the other hand, features a bigger 6.2-inch display with the same resolutions. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones sport 12-megapixel Dual-Pixel rear cameras with image stabilization and f/1.7 aperture. On the front side, the devices come with an 8-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus. Both the devices come with micro-SD card support for memory upgradation in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. Coming to the connectivity options of the two devices, the Samsung Galaxy S8 duo comes with 4G LTE support, dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/c, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, NFC and GPS sensors. Apart from that, it also comes with a proximity sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, heart rate sensor, barometer, and magnetometer. Both the devices also come with an iris scanner, fingerprint scanner, and facial recognition. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is fueled by a 3000mAh battery while the Galaxy S8+ is fueled by a 3500mAh battery and both the devices also come with the fast charging feature like other smartphones of the premium category.
