LG has officially launched its upcoming flagship device LG G7 ThinQ in New York yesterday. Incidentally, the company has scheduled another launch event in its home country of South Korea today and is expected to unveil the same device there as well.
The major highlight of this smartphone is the addition of the iPhone X inspired Notch on the front display panel. While some may not like this particular feature, download data from the Google Play store indicates that Android users do love the notch feature on their handsets. Probably this is also the reason why Android handset manufacturers are embracing the feature more and more on their devices. As a matter of fact, Google has also implemented the notch interface in the upcoming version of the Android operating system. It is set to roll out with Android P when the stable version is released to the public.
Coming to the other features, the LG G7 ThinQ houses a dual camera setup with a fingerprint sensor just below it on the rear panel of the device. Also, the smartphone seems to be made of a metallic material for durability with a glass top finish to impart a glossy look.
The phone also comes with a Boombox speaker that can produce sounds in excess of 6dB. The company has claimed that the speakers can produce sounds at least 10 times more than other premium smartphones in the market and the LG G7 ThinQ can produce more sound if it is kept on a flat surface or box.
The LG G7 ThinQ sports an LCD display panel which is unlike other smartphones in the market which usually comes with LED display panels. However, the company has claimed that it has implemented the Super Bright Display Technology that will enable the users to view contents in direct sunlight or low light conditions or even in a completely dark room.
As for the internal specifications, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor and comes in two variants of 4GB and 6GB RAM and 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. It is fueled by a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood.
On the camera front, the LG G7 ThinQ sports a dual rear camera module with 16MP wide angle sensor and another 16MP regular lens. On the front, it features an 8MP sensor. The device also comes with AR camera capabilities like AI camera, Bright Mode and QLens that are expected to improve the image capturing capabilities of the device.
