Motorola, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer now owned by Lenovo has confirmed that the Moto G6 will be launched in India on June 4, 2018. The upcoming smartphone has been listed on Amazon India confirming the launch date. However, the price of the handset is still unknown and is expected to be revealed on the launch date along with the launch offers from Amazon.
The Moto G6 was launched in Brazil last month and comes with a price tag of $249 (Rs 16,500 approximately). The Moto G6 Plus and the Moto G6 Play were also launched alongside the Moto G6 with price tags of EUR 299 (Rs 24,350 approximately) and $199 (Rs 13,000 approximately) respectively. The Moto G6 Plus is the most premium variant of the three devices with a bigger display screen and RAM of larger capacity. The Moto G6 and the Moto G6 Play, on the other hand, comes with similar specifications in terms of display and RAM but different battery capacity and camera configurations.
As of now, only the Moto G6 is expected to get unveiled in the country and the other two devices may arrive at a later date.
To recall the specs, the Moto G6 runs on stock Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. It features a 5.7-inch full HD+ display screen with a resolution of 1080 X 2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core 450 SoC and Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in two variants of 3GB and 4GB RAM. On the camera front, the smartphone features a dual rear camera module with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with dual-tone LED flash. On the front, the smartphone features a 16-megapixel camera accompanied by an LED flash.
In terms of secondary storage options, the Moto G6 comes in two variants of 32GB and 64GB inbuilt storage that can be further upgraded with the help of micro-SD card. On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C port and the customary 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor and a fingerprint reader.
