BlackBerry is all set to launch a new smartphone on June 7. Dubbed as BlackBerry KEY 2, the latest smartphone from the company is expected to become the successor of the BlackBerry KeyOne. Just ahead of the launch, the smartphone has visited GeekBench benchmarking website leaking the specifications in the process.
As per AndroidHeadlines, two new Blackberry models have been spotted on GeekBench. While one phone has been listed as BlackBerry, the other has been listed as BlackBerry BBE 100-2. Both the smartphones seem to run on the latest Android Oreo flavor and are listed to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. As per sources, both the devices are expected to be models of the BlackBerry KEY2. Also, one of the devices has been listed to sports 4GB RAM while the other features 6GB RAM.
The listing also reveals the single-core and multi-core test scores of both the devices. The 4GB RAM variant has scored 1335 in the single-core test and 4948 in the multi-core test. The 6GB RAM variant, on the other hand, has scored 1291 in the single-core test and 4838 in the multi-core test.
Meanwhile, both the variants of the BlackBerry KEY2 are expected to arrive with dual rear camera setup and a rubberized textured back panel. Also, the Qwerty keyboard of the BlackBerry KEY2 is expected to come with gestures support and a multi-touch display screen with an aspect ratio of 3:2. The smartphone may also feature the customary 3.5mm audio jack on the top while a USB Type-C port may be available on the bottom edge of the smartphone. As per rumors, the BlackBerry KEY2 will also support 4G LTE and dual-SIM dual-standby support.
As per a report by Crackberry, the BlackBerry KEYone has received the latest Android Security Update dated May 2018. The update brings a host of security upgrades and bug fixes and is being rolled out for the unlocked models now. It means the locked carrier models will not be getting the update just yet. All unlocked BlackBerry Keyone users can now head to settings to check for the latest update. Also according to Rogers Community forums, the BlackBerry KeyOne is expected to receive the Android 8.1 update very soon.
