In a bid to compete with Reliance Jio and stay in the market, Airtel has reportedly revised its Rs 399 prepaid plan to offer more data to the users. It is now offering 2.4GB of data per day instead of the previous quota of 1.4GB. However, the offer is available to limited users only.
Along with the daily quota of data, the Rs 399 plan also offers unlimited voice calls across all networks and 100 SMS messages per day with a validity period of 70 days. However, for some users, the validity period has been increased to 84 days. As per a Telecomtalk report, it is these users who are entitled to get 2.4GB of data per day. In addition, the users will also get unlimited voice calling benefits along with 100 SMS messages per day.
Other users of the same Rs 399 plan will continue to get 1.4GB data per day with unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS messages per day. It is expected that Airtel will soon make this offer available to all the customers and in all the circles.
To recall the offers from Reliance Jio, it also has a Rs 399 plan of its own that offers 1.5GB of data per day with a validity period of 84 days. It also provides unlimited local and STD calls across all networks in the country and 100 SMS messages per day. The company also offers a free complimentary subscription to all Jio apps like Jio Cinema, Jio Music, etc. This Jio plan is available to all its customers, unlike Airtel.
Recently, Reliance Jio also launched a new cashback offer, where prepaid users will be entitled to 20% cashback (maximum of Rs 50) on purchasing Jio prepaid plans from the MyJio app or the official Jio website and pay the amount through PhonePe. Dubbed as ‘Holiday Hungama’, the offer will be available from June 1 to June 15.
