Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo has announced that it will roll out the Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Lenovo Tab 4 series of tablets in November this year. The Lenovo Tab 4 series was launched last year by the company running on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
The company has posted on its official support page that the three variants of the Lenovo Tab 4 namely, the Tab 4 8, the Tab 4 8 Plus and the Tab 4 10 will be getting the Android 8.1 Oreo update later this year. Incidentally, this is going to be the first update that the Tab 4 series will be receiving after its launch with Android 7.1 Nougat. This is also likely to be the last update the Tab 4 series may receive as Android P is due to be unveiled shortly. The company is likely to launch the Tab 5 series running on Android P stable version out of the box.
Talking about the specifications, the Lenovo Tab 4 8 and the Tab 4 10 comes with a stylish casing that is both durable and also increases the style quotient of the devices. Apart from that, both the devices are equipped with Dolby Atmos audio technology for providing an enhanced audio experience to the users both over headphones and speakers. The Tab 4 8 comes with an 8-inch full HS display while the Tab 4 10 comes with a larger 10-inch full HD display screen. Both the devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core chipsets coupled with 2GB of RAM.
The Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus and the Tab 4 10 Plus, on the other hand, comes with a glass design both on the front and the back of the devices. Apart from that, both the devices are very sleek in design and very thin as well that imparts stunning aesthetics to both the devices. The Tab 4 8 Plus and the Tab 4 10 Plus are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 64-bit octa-core chipsets coupled with up to 4GB of RAM. Both the devices also feature USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor, Quick Charge technology, and full HD screen displays.
