Lenovo owned Motorola had launched the Moto X4 smartphone last year at the IFA followed by the Moto X4 Android One variant later. While the Moto X4 Android One variant had already received the Android 8.1 Oreo update, the unlocked version of the Moto X4 and the Amazon Prime exclusive variants are now getting the latest Android update. The Amazon Prime variants of the smartphone come with some preinstalled Amazon apps for a more improvised shopping experience.
As per a report by Droid Life, the new Android update comes with version number OPW28.2 and is now available for both the variants of the device. The update includes the Android Security Patch of May 2018 along with some bug fixes, stability updates and UI tweaks. Users can check for the update on their device by heading to Settings> System> System Updates. The company has also informed that the update is being rolled out in phases so it will take some time for all the users to receive the update. Before proceeding with the update, it is recommended to take a backup of all the files of your smartphone and also ensure that you have at least 50% of battery charge remaining.
To recall the specifications of the Moto X4, the smartphone features a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 Soc paired with 4GB of RAM. In terms of internal storage, it is available in two variants of 32GB and 64GB.
On the optics front, the Moto X4 features a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor with Dua;l Autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. The secondary sensor is of 8-megapixel with 120-degree wide-angle view and f/2.2 aperture. On the front, the device features a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and beautification mode. Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, dual-band WiFi, GPS, USB Type-C port, NFC.
