Chinese smartphone manufacturer Asus had unveiled the Zenfone 5Z in India a few weeks ago. The device went on sale in the country for the very first time yesterday and now, the company has started to roll out the first update to bring camera impro\vernts and some bug fixes. The update also includes the Android Security patch for the month of June 2018.
The update with version number 126.96.36.199 is now rolling out over the air and includes major improvements for the device. The most important one is in the camera department. The update reportedly fixes occasional screen flicker issues and also enhances the focus speed while recording a video. The update also improves the quality of video calls. It includes the June Android security patch as well and brings some improvements in LED, NFC, and Secure Albums.
Apart from these, the update also brings some stability improvements in the operating system along with enhanced power management tools. Users can check for the latest update by diving to Settings> System> System Updates.
To recall, the Asus Zenfone 5Z comes with a price tag of Rs 29,999 in India for the 6GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage version. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version are now available for Rs 32,999 while the premium 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version come with a price tag of Rs 36,999.
To recall the specifications, the Asus Zenfone 5Z features a 6.2-inch full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080 X 2246 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU.
The smartphone is available in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options. The internal storage can be further upgraded with the help of a micro-SD card up to a maximum of 2TB. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with ZenUI on top and can be upgraded to Android P. The company has also provided advanced AI capabilities in the device like AI Boost, Smart Screen, and AI ringtone.
