After the launch of the BlackBerry KEY2 in India, Opteimus Infracom, the sole licensee of BlackBerry devices in India is expected to roll out two new smartphones in the country. The company has already sent invites for an official launch event to be held on August 2. However, it is still unclear, which handsets will be announced by the company at the event. But as per the latest rumors, Opteimus Infracom may unveil the BlackBerry Evolve and the BlackBerry Evolve X at the event. Earlier reports had claimed that the Evolve and Evolve X are the rebranded BlackBerry Ghost and Ghost Pro devices respectively.
The announcement of the BlackBerry Evolve and Blackberry Evolve X would be just after the launch of the BlackBerry KEY2. The device after being announced internationally was rolled out in the Indian markets on July 23. It carries a price tag of Rs 42,990 in the country and will go on sale exclusively via Amazon from today. The scheduled launch event of BlackBerry is set to start at 11 am on August 2. We are expecting one or more smartphones to be launched by the company at the event.
As per earlier reports, the BlackBerry Ghost and BlackBerry Ghost Pro were renamed by the company to BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X respectively. Previous reports also claim that the BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X will feature a dual camera setup on the rear panel with low light imaging capabilities and optical zoom features. Both the smartphones are expected to be powered by a massive 4,000mAh battery under the hood.
Some leaked renders of the alleged BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X also suggest that the devices will feature a tall display with very thin bezels and is expected to run on the latest Android version out of the box. These devices also will not feature a QWERTY keyboard, unlike the BlackBerry KEY2.
