Nokia 6.1 Plus with Snapdragon 636 SoC Spotted on Geekbench

A new device from HMD Global dubbed as Nokia 6.1 Plus has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking website. The handset is said to become the global variant of the Nokia X6 device that was launched in China back in May. The handset spotted on Geekbench reportedly carries 4GB RAM and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636SoC. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and is reported to debut in Hong Kong on July 19.

The Geekbench listing reveals the Nokia 6.1 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636SoC and carries 4GB of RAM. It is also listed to run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The listing shows the single-core and multi-core test results as well which reads 1,332 and 4,903 respectively.

The details of the Geekbench listing coincides with the specifications of the Nokia X6 that was in China. This further confirms that the handset is going to be the global variant of the Nokia X6. To recall the specifications of the Nokia X6, it features a 5.8-inch full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080 X 2280 pixels with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC with up to 6GB of RAM. The device sports a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary RGB color sensor and a 5-megapixel monochrome sensor. On the front, it features a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies. It boasts 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be further upgraded to a maximum of 256GB. A 3060mAh battery fuels the device.

It was earlier reported that HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia smartphones was expected to unveil the Nokia 6.1 Plus as the global variant of the Nokia X6 that was exclusively launched in China. It may be recalled that the company had launched the Nokia 6.1 aka Nokia 6 (2018) at the MWC 2018 in February. Now,. It seems to be the right time for the premium variant of the Nokia 6 family to get unveiled.
