OnePlus is one of the few brands that is known to provide the latest software updates sooner than the others. Apart from that, the company also brings timely updates to its older models along with the new ones. Recently the company rolled out the OnePlus 6 video editing capabilities to its older flagship devices like OnePlus 3, 3T, OnePlus 5 and 5T. Now, the company is rolling out Oxygen OS 5.1.9 update for the global variants of the OnePlus 6 to bring camera improvements and more. Along with the OxygenOS update, the company is also rolling out the HydrogenOS 5.1.11 update for the Chinese variants of the OnePlus 6 flagship device.
A complete changelog of the OxygenOS 5.1.9 update can be found on the official OnePlus forum that lists all the improvements it brings on board. It is being reported that the latest update will be available in the form of an OTA update with a size of 342MB.
Talking about the features of the new update, the OxygenOS 5.1.9 adds the Google Lens mode in the camera. This feature will enable the users to find out what is in the images by following the descriptions displayed. It may be recalled that the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T have already received the Google lens feature earlier via an OxygenOS update. The latest update also brings Beauty Mode in the camera that is a handy tool to beautify selfies taken through the front camera.
Apart from the camera features, the latest update also brings Group MMS feature and improves the overall stability of Wifi and Bluetooth connections. The update also includes the Android Security patch of July 2018 along with some bug fixes.
However, the update does not fix the severe battery drain issue that some users had reported earlier. Although OnePlus was expected to roll out a fix, the new OxygenOS update does not include it. It is likely that the Chinese company will roll out another update to fix the issue soon.
