Lava Z60s with 5-inch Display, Android Go and More Launched in India

Indian smartphone manufacturer Lava has launched a new handset in the country to expand its Z series of devices. Called Lava Z60s, the smartphone becomes the successor to the Lava Z60 launched last year. Some of the key highlights of the smartphone include Sharp Click camera, 1GB RAM, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2500mAh battery and Android Oreo (Go Edition). The price of the handset has been set at Rs 4,949. The company has also announced that a 2GB RAM variant of the Lava Z60s will be made available next month.

Talking about the launch of the smartphone, Gaurav Nigam, Head of Product, Lava International said, “Our Z60 smartphone gained unprecedented popularity with our consumers in a short time. Following an overwhelming response to Z60; we are now pleased to offer its power packed successor – Z60s. Our go-to-market strategy is aligned with creating value for our customers through improvisation based on constant customer feedback, our Z60s is a true testimony to that. We are sure that Z60s will surpass the success of Z60 and emerge as the most loved smartphone.”

The Lava Z60s has been priced at Rs 4,949 and will be available via 75000 retail outlets across the country. The smartphone will be available in Gold and Black color options and the company is also offering a special one-time free screen replacement that is valid till November 15, 2018.

Coming to the specifications, the Lava Z60s features a 5-inch HD display with an aspect ratio of 16:9. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1,5GHZ and coupled with 1GB RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage space. The storage is further upgradable to a maximum of 64GB via a micro-SD card. On the camera front, the smartphone features a single 5-megapixel sensor on the rear with an LED flash and another 5-megapixel on the front panel for taking selfies. Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS and 3,5mm headphone jack. Powered by a 2,500mAh battery, the device runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition).
