One of the largest telecom operators in India, Airtel has announced the launch of new international roaming packs for its prepaid packs. Dubbed as ‘Foreign Pass’ the prepaid roaming packs start from Rs 196 onwards.
The packs are available for 20 countries which include the US, UK, Qatar, Kuwait, Canada and the UAE. Notably, these packs will allow the customers to receive free local calls and also make outgoing calls to India without incurring any additional expenses. Customers have the option of choosing three plans as per their needs which include the Rs 196 plan that offers 20 minutes of free calling, Rs 296 which offer 40 minutes and finally Rs 446 that offers 75 minutes of free international calling.
While announcing these plans, Vani Venkatesh, Chief Marketing Officer, Bharti Airtel said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of Airtel Foreign Pass – convenient prepaid International Roaming Recharges to keep our customers connected and tension free, even when traveling abroad. Happy to share that Airtel is the first telco in the country to have designed this value offers for prepaid customers. We will continue to focus on innovations to add to customer convenience and delight”.
The international roaming packs will be available in 20 countries namely UAE, Nepal, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, USA, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, China, Canada, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, France, Netherlands, and Thailand.
These international roaming packs can be activated via the My Airtel App or through the official Airtel website. Customers can also walk into any Airtel retail stores or third-party retailers to activate these packs via easy recharge.
It may be recalled that Airtel has also launched a slew of international roaming packs for its postpaid users as well. These packs come with varied validity periods to suit the needs of the customers and also offer loads of additional benefits like free incoming calls and SMS, outgoing calls to India and also free data to access the internet.
