HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia smartphones has launched three new smartphones in India, yesterday. The models include Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and the Nokia 2.1. While two of these handsets are Android One smartphones, the third one is an Android Oreo (Go edition) based smartphone.
Meanwhile, HMD Global has already started sending media invites for a launch event scheduled on Agust 21 in the county. On that day, the company is expected to launch the Nokia 6.1 which was launched as the Nokia X6 in China, back in May 2018. While most of us were waiting for the Nokia 5.1 and the rest to be unveiled on August 21 at the launch event, the company surprisingly launched three new models yesterday.
Coming to the price of these three devices, the Nokia 2.1 has been priced at Rs 6,999 and will be available in three color options of Blue/Copper, Blue/Silver, and Grey/Silver. The Nokia 3.1 which features 3GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage space comes with a price tag of Rs 11,999 and will be available in three color options of Blue/Copper, Blue/Chrome, and White/Iron. Finally coming to the Nokia 5.1 which sports 3GB RAM and 32GB storage has been priced at Rs 14,499 and will be available in Tempered Blue and Black color variants.
All these devices will be available for purchase from August 12 onwards and the buyers can get their hands on the devices from Paytm Mall, online Nokia store, and offline retailers.
Talking about the launch offers, the smartphones come with 10% cashback on recharges and bill payments through Paytm. Additionally, ICICI Bank credit and debit cardholders will get 5% cashback on purchasing the Nokia 3.1 or the Nokia 5.1 smartphone.
To recall the specifications, the Nokia 2.1 features a 5.5-inch HD display, powered by a Snapdragon 425 SoC. It is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery under the hood. The smartphone runs on Android Oreo (Go edition).
The Nokia 3.1 and the Nokia 5.1 feature major upgrades from their predecessors. Both the devices are powered by MediaTek processor with tall 18:9 aspect displays. These devices are part of the Android One program and are scheduled to get regular software and security updates including the Android 9 Pie update soon.
