South Korean tech giant Samsung, launched its first Android Go edition based device called Samsung Galaxy J2 Core last week. The budget smartphone with entry-level specifications and features along with an optimized version of Android Oreo is now available in India.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core is now available for purchase at a starting price of Rs 6,190. The device is available in multiple color variants of gold, black and blue and is available for purchase across all retail stores and Samsung’s online store.
The smartphone comes with some Android Go edition based pre-loaded apps like Google Go, Gmail Go and Maps Go that take up very little memory and provides up to 1.5 times of the available storage space to the users.
To recall the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core sports a 5-inch QHD TFT display with a screen resolution of 540 X 960 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 SoC under the hood and coupled with Mali-T720 MP1 GPU. It is equipped with 1GB RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage space which can be further upgraded with the help of a micro-SD card.
On the optics front, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel single rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. On the front, it features a 5-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling. Both the cameras come with f/2.2 aperture and are also equipped with a Beauty Mode for taking clearer selfies and group photos.
On the connectivity front, it comes with 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, FM radio and 3.5mm headphone jack. It is fueled by a modest 2,600mAh battery under the hood and the phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box with Samsung Experience UI on top.
