Alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, the company has announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2018). As per a Samsung blog post, the company has launched a new 10.5-inch tab called galaxy Tab A (2018) which also features a massive 7,300mAh battery.
Jason Lee, Director and Head of Tablet Product Strategy Group at Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics, said, “We are proud to announce the Galaxy Tab A 10.5”, Samsung’s latest addition to the tablet lineup with capabilities that make life easier, and more entertaining for the whole family.”
Coming to the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2018) sports a 10.5-inch WUXGA TFT LCD display with a screen resolution of 1920 X 1200 pixels and 16:10 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The Galaxy Tab A (2018) is available only in one variant of 3GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. The internal storage is further upgradable to a maximum of 400GB via a micro-SD card.
On the optics front, the tab features a single camera sensor of 8-megapixels on the rear panel accompanied with an LED flash. On the front, it features a 5-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling.
The tab offers a host of connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wifi 802.11 ac, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS and USB 2.0 Type-C port. The tab also features four Dolby Atmos speakers for providing surround sound quality. The tablet is available in two variants of LTE and WiFi. While the WiFi variant weighs 529g, the LTE variant weighs 534g.
The Samsung Galaxy tab A (2018) is fueled by a massive 7,300mAH battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. The Galaxy Tab also features a Kid’s Mode that will allow the parents to monitor the contents and time spent by their kids on the device.
The tab is available in three color options of Blue, Black, and Grey. Talking about the price, the WiFi variant of the device comes with a price tag of $383 (Rs 26,195 approximately) and the LTE variant is available for $453 (Rs 30,980 approximately). The device will be available for purchase from August 24 onwards.
