Since the introduction of Reliance Jio in 2016, the Indian telecom market has seen drastic changes in terms of data pricing and calling benefits offered by the various telecom operators. The cheap pricing strategy of Reliance Jio has forced the other major operators like Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea to come up with competitive plans to thwart the challenge. Now, Airtel, one of the largest telecom operators on India, has introduced a new prepaid plan to benefit its customers.
The new plan priced at Rs 289 has been designed for customers who prefer voice calling more than data. As per a Telecom Talk report, the Rs 289 plan offers unlimited calling benefits to its customers. It offers unlimited local/STD and roaming call facilities with any FUP limits of any kind.
In addition to the voice calling benefits, the Airtel plan also offers 1GB of data and 100 SMS messages per day with a validity of 48 days. As mentioned before, this plan offers limited data along with unlimited calling benefits with a long validity period of 48 days.
To talk about plans of other operators, Reliance Jio has a plan of Rs 299 and Idea Cellular has a prepaid plan of Rs 295 that comes with similar benefits. The Idea Cellular plan offers 5GB of data, 100SMS messages per day and unlimited calling benefits for a period of 42 days. However, it has a daily FUP limit of 250 minutes and a weekly limit of 1000 minutes.
The Reliance Jio plan of Rs 299 on the other hand, provides truly unlimited calling benefits without any FUP limits of any kind. In addition, it also offers 3GB of data per day along with 100SMS messages and comes with a validity period of 28 days. This plan offers a lot more data than the Airtel plan but comes with a shorter validity period of 28 days only.
