Vivo V9 Pro with Snapdragon 660 and Display Notch Launched in India

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has launched a new smartphone in India after recently unveiling the Vivo V11 Pro and the Vivo V11. Dubbed as Vivo V9 Pro, the smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, features a display notch and dual cameras on its back panel. The smartphone also features a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel. Just like the Vivo V9, the Vivo V9 Pro will be available in the country exclusively via Amazon India.

Coming to the price, the Vivo V9 Pro comes with a price tag of Rs 17,990. It is currently available only in one color option of Black. The smartphone will be available exclusively on Amazon India as it is the online retail partner of the company. Since the smartphone has been competitively priced, it will compete against the likes of Xiaomi Mi A2 and Nokia 7 Plus as both these devices are also powered by the same Snapdragon 660 SoC and have a price tag below Rs 20,000.

Coming to the specifications, the Vivo V9 Pro features a 6.3-inch FullView display 2.0 with a screen resolution of 1080 X 2280 pixels. The display panel has a screen to body ratio of 90 percent and also features a display notch like the one found on Apple iPhone X. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660SoC coupled with Adreno 512GPU and 6GB of RAM. The device comes with 64GB of inbuilt storage space which can be further upgraded via a micro-SD card up to a maximum of 256GB.

On the camera front, the device features a dual rear camera module comprising of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The module is accompanied by an LED flash. On the front, it features a 16-megapixel sensor for taking selfies with f/2.0 aperture and also boats of some AI assisted features like Selfie Lighting and Face Beauty.

Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, dual-band WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB OTG, micro-USB port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. It is powered by a 3,260mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with FunTouch 4.0 OS on top.
