Fossil owned consumer electronics brand Misfit has launched a new smartwatch in its lineup of devices. Dubbed as Misfit Vapor 2, the smartwatch becomes the successor to Misfit Vapor launched last year. The latest wearable device from the company comes with a price tag of $249.99 and brings new features like GPS and NFC support. Notably, both these features were missing in the previous edition of the smartwatch. Apart from these features, the new watch does not come with any major design changes and looks quite similar to its predecessor.
The Misfit Vapor 2 will be available for purchase via the company’s own online store and offline retailers. No specific date of availability has been announced so far and the online store has listed the smartwatch as “coming soon”. The price of the smartwatch has been set at $249,99 which is $50 more than the previous edition. It is still unknown, whether the smartwatch will make its way to India.
Coming to the specifications, the Misfit Vapor 2 features an AMOLED display panel and comes in two sizes- one with 1.19-inch display and 41mm case and another with a 1.39-inch display and a 46mm case. The key highlights of this smartwatch are the built-in GPS and NFC support which were missing in the previous edition. With the help of GPS support, the users will be able to effectively track speed, distance, and location. With the help of the NFC chip, the users will be able to make seamless payments via Google Pay. However, this feature will only be available in some countries which will be notified in due course of time.
The Misfit Vapor 2 also features a redesigned heart rate monitor along with built-in Google Assistant support. The watch is also water resistant up to 30 meters of water depth. In terms of processing power, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 SoC.
