In this post we are going to see if the device lives up to a typical budget smartphone or its just another feature-rich model in the already overcrowded affordable segment of the market! Check out our Hodor 5X review:
Huawei Honor 5X Features Review:
When to comes to smartphones, some of the key features that used look for are their design, display, processors, storage, camera, battery, connectivity and a few other features like fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM etc. Here we are going to dig into each one of them, one after the other.
Huawei Honor 5X Look and Feel:
In terms of looks, the all new Honor 5X has metallic body which gives it a shiny stylish look. The device weighs lighter than it looks. Therefore if anyone want to buy Honor 5X because of the fact that the body is metallic and therefore will weigh heavier than the smartphones with plastic body.
The back of the phone has a camera with single-tone LED flash, fingerprint sensor below and the Honor logo. The top and the bottom of the back has plastic bands. And the edges allow a decent grip. The e SIM and microSD slots are found on the left and the power and volume keys on the right. The 3.5mm jack is on the top and the Micro-USB port and speaker are at the bottom.
Huawei Honor 5X Display:
The Honor 5X sports 5.5 inches (72.2% screen-to-body ratio) display with 1080 x 1920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). It allows multi-touch and IPS LCD capacitive touch-screen with 16M colours. The phone also comes with a factory-fitted screen protector film. Added to theses the phone seems to have decent colour, brightness and other details. The screen appears sharp and vivid, excellent for watching YouTube and movies.
Processor:
The device is powered by Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Android v5.1.1 (Lollipop) Operating System, Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 Chipset and Adreno 405 GPU. The processor is more powerful that what is offered by typical mid-range smartphone available in the market. We are a little disappointed that the phone didn’t come with Android Marshmallow.
Storage:
Other specifications include 2 GB RAM and 16GB internal memory which is expandable via Micro-SD card slot up to 128 GB. But the 2 GB RAM comes across as inadequate and buyers may be tempted to go for similar phones with 3 GB RAM.

Huawei Honor 5X Camera:
Camera is one of the best features in a smartphone and the Honor 5X has 13 MP rear camera with dual-LED (dual tone) flash, f/2.0, 28mm and autofocus. The rear camera sports 5MP. Added to these there’s Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR features available.
Battery:
Honor 5X is packed with a non-removable battery Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery which is only fair and runs for 9 hours, 26 minutes. In the present day scenario, the battery is weak and will need charging 1 or 2 times a day.
Connectivity:
On the connectivity front, it supports the device offers Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, GPS, FM Radio and microUSB v2.0.
Honor 5X Price:
The Huawei Honor 5X comes at Rs 12,999 which is appropriate for a decent smartphone with the above features.
