After the launch of the latest affordable Smartphone of the company, the iPhone SE, Apple may cut down the price of their previous flagship, iPhone 5S by whopping 50 %. With the American tech conglomerate is all set to release the iPhone SE in the market on March 22, the iPhone 5S could just become a sideshow. Thus the company has decided to sell the iPhone 5S in just half price.
The 4-inch iPhone 5S, same display size as the upcoming iPhone SE, has gone through a series of price cuts already and now costs only $450 in the USA .But if we take KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo’s words as granted, one of the most well-informed analyst when it comes to Apple, the price will be slashed down to a mere $225.
If we take the Indian market into consideration, the 16GB variant of the iPhone 5S is now available in just about Rs. 21,000 on most of the leading e-commerce portals of the country. But if the 50 % price cut would become effective in India, the iPhone 5S could be available for only about Rs 12,000-13,000 in the country.
As the sales of iPhones in India have gone down largely for the high prices the devices bear, the price cut could done wonder and will surely revive its sale to a certain extend. For your information, Apple had taken same sort of marketing strategy when they started giving cash-back of Rs 7,000 to the buyers of iPhone 4 two years ago, and that move had paid off as the company’s growth in India has increased by a large number since then.
