After updating the Search app and the Security app, Google on Wednesday has introduced the Android Auto app to a bunch of new countries. Google recently tweeted from their official Android account and says that the Android Auto platform is now finally available on 18 new countries including India, Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Russia, Switzerland, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
The Android Auto is already available in some first-world countries like Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, the UK, and the US and after adding these 18 countries the total reaches to 29 now. Google also updated the latest version of the Android Auto bringing it to the v1.6.
The latest updated version of the Android Auto incorporates several useful features such as the company has improved the phone-car connection reliability, betters the ability to browse user’s music collection without lockouts; even when the vehicle is stopped , and also brings in a more detailed and versatile music collection interface .Though Google has also suggested that despite the update, a Google Play Services update is required to finally enable the new features and unless and until the features will not reflect on the front end .
The rollout of the latest version of Android Auto in India will come with some country-specific features and we can expect an increased adoption by local and international manufacturers of in-dash infotainment systems and cars. Till now only a few domestic car manufacturers have made their plans clear on the adoption.

Now as Android Auto, which links smart phones and tablets with an in-vehicle infotainment system, gets green flag in India, this modern day utility technology will be available in Mahindra’s sports utility vehicles, such as XUV 500 and Scorpio, as well as in future cars.
