HTC 11: Release Date, Price, Specifications

HTC 11: Smartphone makers HTC had hit a bit of a rough spot with their devices not doing so well commercially but the company is looking to make a comeback into the market with their next offering, the HTC 11 which is slated to feature sometime soon this year. Also named the HTC Ocean master, the device is reportedly heading for a launch in the upcoming MWC event in Barcelona and is set to become what the company is touting to be the ‘Smartest Smartphone’. The device is expected to house the best in-class technical specifications of today keeping in mind the various technological advancements being rolled out each day. The HTC 11 is slated to go up against the big guns of the year like th Samsung galaxy S8 and the LG G6 and it is quite unprecedented that the company is planning to unveil something revolutionary in the forthcoming event.

The HTC 11 is expected to be announced at the forthcoming MWC 2017 event in Barcelona.

Display

Previously leaked renders of HTC 11 hinted towards a striking similarity to the HTC 10 according to posts on Chinese microblog Weibo. The upcoming 2017 smartphone is most likely to come with a 5.5-inch display with Quad High Definition (2560×1440 pixels) resolution and the latest renders hinting at a bezel-less front and  100%screen-to-body resolution. The device is also pegged to feature protection through Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 technology making it almost impervious to external damages.

Hardware and Software

The HTC 11 without a doubt, will feature the latest Snapdragon 835 processor, which was launched by Qualcomm a few days earlier in January’s  CES event. Made in collaboration with Samsung, the Snapdragon 835 is the first 10nm chipset from Qualcomm is definitely pegged to be the best pick when it comes to the new premium smartphones rolled out in 2017 by the various consumer electronics giants. According to Qualcomm, the new fabrication process makes the chipset up to 30 percent more efficient while offering performance improvement of 27 percent. Also, the Snapdragon 835 will provide 40% more battery backup resulting in a higher battery retention capability. This processor is currently the best chipset around helping certain devices earn very high-performance scores from RRA Certifications. It is coupled to Octa-core graphic processor Kryo 200 in 64-bit.  The HTC 11 also packed with massive 8GB RAM specification along with 128GB of on-board memory expandable via micro-SD cards.

The HTC 11 will reportedly be rolled out with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. The device will also feature the SenseCompanion unveiled by HTC which is basically the company’s homegrown version of Apple’s Siri or Google Now.

Camera

Today smartphone cameras are getting better and better with the best systems and lenses used by the top notch manufacturers and HTC is looking to make significant changes to the camera department as well. HTC 11 is pegged to sport a 12-megapixel camera and along with the company’s UltraPixel (HTC UltraPixelTM 2 with 1.55μm pixel) technology, something which was also present in the HTC 10. Moreover, the primary camera will be feature laser autofocus, OIS, BMI sensor, dual tone LED flash and 4K video recording, among others. The device will have a dedicated professional mode for the camera lovers who love to tweak around with the settings. The HTC 11 will sport a 5-megapixel camera on the front panel for selfie and video calling purposes.

Battery 

The HTC 11’s Snapdragon 835 chipset is slated to hit the market housing a 3,400 mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quickcharge 4.0 technology, a feature which is 20% faster and 30% more power efficient than Quick Charge 3.0. Qualcomm says that the Quick Charge 4.0 can charge a fully drained battery up to 50% in just 15 minutes though specific USB Type-C based adapters.

HTC 11 Release Date and Price

There is no further doubt regarding the fact that the HTC 11 will definitely feature at the forthcoming MWC event in Barcelona post which it will be made available. Although a definite release and availability date hasn’t been announced as of yet, sometime by the beginning of summer 2017 seems highly probable. In terms of pricing, the company will seemingly not go overboard with the price of the HTC 11. The device is expected to cost somewhere near $799 considering the fact that its predecessor was made available for $699. However, we will only get to know for sure after HTC decides to reveal more about the device in the February end event.
